Scientists Create Nanoparticle Fertiliser

Ramesh Raliya and Pratim Biswas, two Indian-origin scientists at the Washington University have used nanoparticles in fertilisers to help increase farm output. These fertilisers reportedly will be more eco-friendly than conventional fertilisers and will not add to the strain on existing natural resources. IIT Graduate Develops App to Assist Farmers

Ruchinilo Kemp, an IIT-Guwahati graduate, has developed an app that is assisting farmers in Rajasthan by helping them connect with agriculture sciences experts. Farmers can reach out for knowledge and assistance through photos, videos and text in their mother tongue. Vice-Chancellor of  Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore calculated how much cultivated area was inundated in the costal districts of Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Cuddalore by the recent rains using  images obtained from European Space Agency’s Sentinel 1A satellite.
