Scotland’s Universities Offer Scholarships to Students from India

Students of India perusing studies in Scotland have additional approachability for international scholarships. Scottish Funding Council has declared a new £200,000 scholarship fund to mark the mission in India that will give 20 students from India scholarships of up to £10,000 for 2018-19 and mutually funded by the Scottish Funding Council and Scottish universities.

The offer is restricted to the three of the themes of the mission: big data, medical technologies and food/water.

Strathclyde Business School have also declared scholarships for  2018-19 Indian applicants the chance to assume a Strathclyde MBA in Glasgow from September 2018.

The University of Stirling has in addition publicized a postgraduate skilled scholarship for 2018-19 Indian applicants to have a £2,000 tuition fee waive.

For 2018-19, Edinburgh Napier University is also contributing its South Asia Scholarships. More than £100,000 was arranged to Indian students last year by the merit-based scheme, apart from four Education is GREAT India Scholarships.

Roughly 150 scholarships available to Indian students across Heriot-Watt University campuses in Scotland, Dubai and Malaysia. In the year  2016-17 the university awarded £375,000 in scholarships to students from India.

With a view to assign and to celebrate 120 years of  original foundation in Paisley in 1897, 25 years as a university and 10 years as the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), it is  offering 120,  ‘120 Anniversary Scholarships’ to non-EU international students of academic excellence with toppers from India also.

The University of Edinburgh has over £80,000 of scholarships to offer Indian students. The largest from the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation which is to assist capable young Indian toppers. The delegation of  the Scottish Government, Scottish Development International and the British Council discussed on this with higher Indian government officials, education policymakers and business leaders.

To strengthen  relationships and execute new partnerships with the higher education sector and key industries in India, a joint events was hosted by 11 of Scotland’s universities and the Scottish Government in Mumbai and Delhi. These were to share the message that ‘Scotland’s universities welcome India’ and establish Scotland’s status for quality in research, innovation and learning.

Currently over 1,300 Indian students studying in Scotland and the delegation rejoices the top skill of Indian students at UG and PG levels in Scottish universities.

The India higher education undertaking is part a global campaign called ‘Scotland’s universities welcome the world’ which celebrates the diversity and inclusivity of Scottish universities. It is backed by all 19 higher education institutions across Scotland, which are already home to over 180 different nationalities among their students and staff.
