    A study by Canada-based researchers revealed that the mass of the Milky Way galaxy, which spans roughly 1,00,000 light years across, is equivalent to nearly 700 billion times that of the Sun.

    The team used the velocities and positions of star clusters orbiting the Milky Way galaxy to study the mass of the galaxy and its dark matter components.
